In 1949, 15-year Zhang served as a voice actor in the translation team of the Northeast Film Studio. From 1955 to 1957, he studied at the Beijing Film Academy's Actor Specialist Course. After graduation, he played a leading role or an important role in films such as "The Waves of Life", "Red Sun", and "Scar Story". In 1963, he was appointed as the deputy leader of the commentary group of the news and documentary film studio. In 1973, Tune Beiying was appointed as the production director.
