For his work on Josh and Benny Safdie's 2014 film Heaven Knows What, Boyson was nominated for the John Cassavetes Award at the 2016 Independent Spirit Awards. As a director, he is primarily known for co-writing and directing the 2025 film Our Hero, Balthazar.
