Athletes are notorious for being hard on themselves. Because so often, we're told that dreams are only realized through grit, determination and desire. By her own admission, Caroline Ciavaldini has been pretty hard on herself in times gone by. But things have changed. Now that she has a young family, climbing is only part of the picture. Kindness follows not only Caroline the climber but Caroline the mum, as she discovers how the experience of parenting and adopting a softer, kinder approach could help her unlock her toughest route yet.
